Character Sketch - Heidi Jensen

Heidi Jensen is Alayna Archuleta's best friend and college roommate. They met in undgraduate college in Albuquerque, New Mexico where Heidi majored in Psychology. She also went to UCLA for graduate school where she received a Master's Degree in Counseling, and she currently works as a high school counselor in San Diego, California. Heidi's parents are Denise and Izak and she has an older brother named Max.

Heidi is 5'6" tall, has long, caramel brown, straight hair and brown eyes. Her body type is trim and voluptuous. Heidi is the archetypal Caregiver. She is compassionate, empathetic, patient, reliable, and has a nurturing nature. She is also fiercely loyal to her friends, is emotionally intelligent and able to de-escalate conflicts while remaining humble and grounded. Heidi is happy to stay in the background and out of the spotlight. She is observant, thoughtful, and self-reflective and works to help Alayna to be more reflective before jumping into an unknown adventure without thinking.

Of course, Heidi tends to avoid conflict, and sometimes can become emotionally overwhelmed. At times she can be stubborn, especially when helping others, and she sometimes oversteps boundaries in her eagerness to help, even when others push her away. Heidi also struggles with insecurity and is uncomfortable being alone since she only feels valuable when she is being useful to someone else. When she and Alayna moved away from each other, Heidi had to confront her fear of losing a piece of her identity as Alayna's friend and grounding anchor. They speak very frequently on the phone and get together for a girls' weekend a few times per year.
